Halloween has never really been a big deal to me. Which now that I think about it, is kind of weird. Because, if you know me, then you definitely know that candy is one of my only major food groups. Along side coffee, sugar is probably the only thing that really keeps going in life.
You probably also know that I’m not really into hard work of any kind… So, maybe it’s not all that weird that Halloween isn’t a highly ranking “holiday.”
I’d much rather expend the effort it takes to take my ass to the store, spend the cash, and buy my own candy, rather than think of a costume and walk around begging for it.
It really could have gone either way. I guess in this situation, my laziness overwhelmed my desire for free shit… as it usually does, and Halloween just never became a big deal for me. Check back during Thanksgiving/Christmas or when any of my friends is having a birthday and then shit gets crazy.
October 9th: My Best Halloween Memory
(Read the original Blogtober 2014 post here!)
Alright, so, I’ve never gone hard for Halloween, and for that reason, I don’t really have one serious memory that stands out about the day. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean I’m going to leave you without any special nuggets. Bring on the throwback photos!
Last year we celebrated Halloween/Kalie’s 8th Birthday right after leaving the red woods. One of the first places I wrote on my “must see” travel list, I was so impressed and happy to finally see them.
We spent the day in the parking lot of a Walmart in California and it was honestly pretty great. This is also the place where I posted on Facebook about Aaron making poop in public locations for the first time. I got a really big positive response and was highly entertained all afternoon.
This was the year when Jason Grauf made his first appearance as Amelia Earhart… Truthfully, probably my favorite memory of Jason in all the years that I have known him. We also celebrated Kalie’s first birthday in the Airstream (she turned 7) and we visited my sisters before “passing out candy” at Megan’s house.
Aren’t they adorable? I can’t wait to see what they dress up as this year (Kalie and the girls 😉).
Aaron and I were in Mexico, preparing to celebrate my best friend Megan’s wedding. While, Kalie was home with her grandparents celebrating her birthday with the other puppies. How cute is that? Honestly.
And there ya have it, my favorite Halloween memories since the last time I participated in Blogtober. I’m still keeping hope alive that 2017 is my year for best Halloween memory ever!
Where was your favorite vacation/trip to? Who was it with?
